Steaming Ahead!

Clad in sequined denim, 4 girls jig their way around a train station in San Diego, USA...
Yep! it's B*Witched and they're causing lo-comotion on the set of their new vid. Yikes!

E=Edele  L=Lindsay  S=Sinead  K=Keavy

So what's your new single "Jesse hold on", all about?

E: It's about a girl who's about to say "yes" to a guy that's after asking her to get married.

K: She's on the way to say "yes" and is telling him to hold on a while. We started off writing it about our sister, Alison. It began about her being away since she lives here in USA, but then it changed...

L: It's quite different track for us as it's very western and up-tempo. There's also a heavy influence banjo in there as well.

E: But we haven't given up on the fiddle---that's in there too!

  Are you hoping for a 5th no.1?

L: We don't ever hope for a no.1---but obviously our fingers are crossed and we'd love it!

K: I think our fans would be more disappointed if we didn't get one!

There's a lot of jigging about in this vid...

L: We've gone really heavy on the dance routines for this one, but I think they look a lot more grown up.

E: We've really pushed it to the limit.

S: Especially in 100 degrees---It's really hard when you have to do take after take & still look as fresh as the 1st time---especially when you have blisters like I have!

Do you still enjoy filming as much as you did at first?

E: I enjoy making our videos, but I don't enjoy hanging around the whole day.

S: I don't enjoy wake up at 5am, either!

And what about dressing up as men?

E, L, S, K: We all loved it!

K: We hope we manage to fool everyone when they watch the video. We don't want them to realize it's us until the end...

S: When Edele walked in, dressed in her outfit for the 1st time, we were screaming with laughter! (What!? Are we good-looking as boys?)

E: We make beautiful boys, he-he!

So if you could be a man for the day, who'd it be?

K: I'd be Mel Gibson since I think he's gorgeous. I'd be him in one of  Lethal Weapon films.

S: I wouldn't mind that either.

L: I'd be Brad Pitt so I could convince him to like Lindsay from B*witched.

E: Keavy, who'd you say? I don't know...

K: Say Santa Claus since you get to make kids happy! (all burst out laughing)

Any plans to move into movies yet?

L: We were actually asked to do a Disney movie called Lifesize, starring Tyra Banks. However, we didn't have time.

E: But they're going to use some of our songs instead---C'est La Vie, Rollercoaster and they're after another, but I'm not sure which.

K: I'm sure we'll get another chance. You know, if this one wasn't for us, it wasn't for us!

Tell us a bit about the new album you're working on.

K: We've experimented with different kind of music--it's a step up!

S: We've recorder a track with an African choir, called "I shall be there". It sounds beautiful---it really put the finishing touch to the album.

L: It was such a laugh doing it. They wouldn't stop singing, even we've finished recording!

So have you changed since you've been to America?

E: We've experienced so much & seen so many places... We're changing all the time & we grow up every month!

S: We've learnt a lot more about the business as well. We're a lot wiser!

Does that mean you're about to sack someone?

K: Yes, I'm about to sack Sinead, Lindsay & Edele and go it on my own!

Have you kept a diary of all your travels?

K: No, we're too busy. I used to keep one but I stopped since I didn't like looking back on how I felt.

S: I kept one for about 7 years but I got bored of it. When I read it now I can't believe I spent all that time writing things like," I washed my hair, I went to town..."

So, are you looking forward to going home?

E: I can't wait to get back to my own bed and my mom's cooking. I really missed it!

L: Usually we all look forward to the same thing----hanging around at home doing nothing!

S: I've bought a new apartment so I can't wait to get back and start decorating it.

What couldn't you buy in America that you really missed?

K: King crisps, Manhanttan popcorn

L: Brennan's Bread

S: Tea bags! American tea is awful!

E: American don't boil the kettle properly, the water is never hot enough!

Have you managed to keep up-to-date with the UK charts?

E: Not really, only the number ones!

K: So we know about Ricky Martin & S club 7. What? Are we nervous about the new bands? No, not at all. I think our fans are really loyal and nowadays it's alright to like more than one band.

Finally, what's your plan for re-claiming the charts when return to England?

E: Basically, we're just going to be ourselves.

K: Working hard & having fun! We have our tour coming up, the album it's going to be great!

L: We'll be having fun at the same time.

S: ... and hopefully, that'll work for us!
